So we were talking one day about The Yellow Brick Road and had somewhat of a revelation. First we had to ask, "What is The Yellow Brick Road?" as far as the Wizard of Oz is concerned. Ok... Easy! It was a path in which Dorothy and the homies, Tin Man, Scarecrow, The Cowardly Lion, and Toto, needed to take to get to Emerald City/The Land of Oz. Then there's the question, "Why do they need to get to Emerald City?" Easy! Emerald City is the place where they will make their dreams come true. The one thing that they've always dreamed of having is there and the Wizard of Oz is gunna help them get it... Cool.
So, now we have four homies, a cool lil' dog, and this Yellow Brick Road... It's simple right? Nope! This magical golden road is FILLED with obstacles... But hey! What's a journey without some damn obstacles? Not a real journey at all actually...
When we compared this Yellow Brick Road to our own life, the resemblance was uncanny. Dorothy, Tin Man, Scarecrow, and The Cowardly Lion all encompass some aspect of who we are. Dorothy's got these fly ass Ruby heels on but it doesn't matter because shes just lost and wants to go home, Tin Man needs some love in his life but doesn't have a heart, Scarecrow just wants to be educated, and The Cowardly Lion needs some courage to go take on the world... Toto... Well... He's just there for the ride.
When you think about them, it's hard not to remember a time when you needed a little help finding peace of mind like you have at home, finding your heart because it's either broken or just non-existent, or simply just finding the courage to take a chance in life. We've been down this Yellow Brick Road and still are.
